 Full of accommodation and lodging to suit everyone, Mexico City features everything from cheap guesthouses to the most luxurious of hotels. Many of Mexico City's mid-range hotels tend to provide comfortable multi-storey accommodation, although the guestrooms can be a little small in size, trading character for modern facilities and amenities.
Most sensibly priced hotels in Mexico City come complete with their own restaurants and bars. Worth noting, accommodation with the world 'garage' displayed on their sign indicates that these are 'love hotels', although they do also provide a reasonable level of cheap accommodation.
 Mexico City Hotels and Accommodation: Where to Stay - Mexico City, Mexico, MX
Many of the most popular hotels in Mexico City are clustered within the Roma district and around the Plaza de la República. However, mid-range accommodation is not available all over Mexico City and therefore you will need to consider your travel and sightseeing plans when choosing a hotel.
Also worth looking out for in Mexico City is a selection of cheap hotels in the neighbourhoods located on the western side of the Zócala (Plaza de la Constitucion) and close to the Alameda Central. A number of these hotels are traditionally colonial in character and often boast high ceilings, balconies and pleasant city views. Several value hostels are also to be found within this area of Mexico City and are especially popular with backpackers looking for budget accommodation.
Even though the Historic Centre (Centro Histórico) of Mexico City has recently been renovated and improved, hotels here remain reasonably inexpensive and quite affordable. The main accommodation within the Historic Centre is based around the Avenida 5 de Mayo and its surrounding streets, being close to both the Allende and Zócalo metro train stations.
A range of accommodation, from budget lodging right up to top-end hotels, can also be found around the Alameda Central area, with many hotels being just a short walk from the Metro Juárez and Metro Ballas Artes train stations. To the west of the Alameda, the Plaza de la Republica neighbourhood is a quieter part of Mexico City and predominantly residential, being home to some inexpensive hotels.
For the ultimate in luxury, the best selection of five-star hotels are clustered within the Polanco district and the Zona Rosa area. Business travellers staying in Mexico City will also find that Polanco offers plenty of well-placed accommodation, particularly on the northern side of the Bosque de Chapultepec.
